If you are up to some networking and information gathering, or just about to take the big leap and go freelance, conferences and workshops can really come handy. I just recently attended one of Business Link’s one day event and found it really inspiring. These events are really good to get some advice and listen to some uplifting speech. You can meet the local accountants, solicitors, printing companies, design studios, etc. They are there in hope of getting some new clients and more than happy to answer your questions. Sometimes you can get some really good deals and discounts as well.
Going Solo is a one-day educational conference for freelancers and small business owners of the internet industry. It will take place in Lausanne, on the shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland, on May 16th, 2008.
What sounds interesting about Going Solo is not just the fact that it’s a big gathering for tech freelancers from all over Europe. It also meant to be educational over inspirational, which means that on top of the usual inspiration boost and new contacts, you can get some in-depth information about the “business” side of being self-employed.
