The ’80s seemed to rule the runways this New York Fashion Week, from the oversize silhouettes at Marc Jacobs to the playful prints and bright colors that composed Adam Selman’s Fall 2018 collection. So it comes as no surprise that many of the songs that accompanied the collections originated in that same decade, from the eerie Jane track that played at Alexander Wang to the Pointer Sisters’ “Jump,” which enlivened the runway at Tom Ford.

Beyond the Reagan-era hits, there were plenty of special live musical moments, too. Yaeji’s haunting live ambient score at Eckhaus Latta added another layer to the clothing, while the Telfar show was a victory lap of a musical for the recent Fashion Fund winner. And last but not least, the Raphael Saadiq–produced choir at Pyer Moss was perhaps the musical highlight of the entire week. Listen to a playlist inspired by NYFW’s most memorable musical moments below.
